Sports and alcohol: 5 reasons why you should not go to the gym with a hangover

1. You can get hurt
There is a great chance that you did not get enough sleep, even if you came home before midnight.
Alcohol added five kopecks to the lack of sleep, and training in a state of fatigue can lead to injury. For example, you can drop dumbbells on your leg or tuck your leg while jogging. Tired muscles react slower than usual, coordination and endurance worsened. Already on the treadmill? Look at your feet!

2. You are dehydrated
It is known that about 1 ml of urine are needed for 1 ml of alcohol to remove it from the body, so you need to drink water in large quantities and often. A small lack of fluid does not interfere with the training, but if you are still thirsty, concentration is lost.

3. Sweat undesirable
About 10% of alcohol comes out of the body with fluids, including sweat. But since, as is clear from the previous paragraph, there is little water in the body, the kidneys limit the amount of sweat, which makes active weight training with a hangover meaningless.

4. Alcohol harms the muscles.
And the next day they are better not to load. The condition of the muscles depends on the presence of alcohol in the blood, and the muscle tissues involved in strength training suffer the most. Two servings of alcohol worsen their condition by 73% for the next 12 hours.

5. May feel dizzy

The reason for this - low blood sugar. Alcohol affects the ability of the liver to maintain normal sugar levels. Half an hour before a workout is to eat fruit or at least drink juice.
